8-PDO Design Engineer

Responsible for design, development, testing and releasing of the more complex engineering projects. Work involves a considerable amount of creativity and initiative. Exercise a high level of independent judgment, with little guidance from supervisor. Has both technical and administrative direction over a small group of design engineers assigned to non-recurring design investigations.

 Coordinates all aspects of a design project, including drafting services, prototype build and test services Releases final designs for manufacturing or purchase as appropriate Exercise primary cost controls in proposed product designs Performs analytical investigations to verify design objectives and product performance Follows up on assigned design projects to evaluate worth of alternative approaches to complex product proposals Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities



Basic RequiredFive to Seven years of fuel design experienceExperienced and knowledgeable about fuel pump module manufacturing.Knowledgeable about fuel system best practices.Detailed working understanding of all fuel system SSTS and CTS requirements.Familiarity with all design, build and test services Highly proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings Thorough knowledge of most advanced engineering methods, tools and procedures High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to engineering preferred Bachelor degree with a major in engineering or equivalent training
