ADVANCED DRIVER SUPPORT HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER

The individual will work on-site with a multi-disciplined team focused on developing advanced automotive driver support system technologies. Responsibilities include:

-Safety systems HMI (Human Machine Interface) and effective countermeasures development utilizing on road and simulator testing techniques

-Driver focused safety products threat assessment algorithm development

-Driver state assessment sensor and algorithm development

-Human performance experimental design, performance validation testing, analysis and results documentation

-Advanced Human Machine Interface technologies development in the areas of navigation, telematics and entertainment

-Consultation and requirements specification development with the product teams is also required

 

The unique role of this position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of three years applied Human Factors research experience in the areas of:

-Experimental psychology

-Human behavior modeling

-Human performance testing

-Experiment design and in-depth statistical analysis capability

-Ability to network with the industry and academic research community

-Ability to work as a team player and multi-task, is a self starter with the ability to stretch, learn and develop new human machine interface concepts

-Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

-Proficient in the use of Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and SAS

-Video/audio capture and editing protocols, prototyping in Visual Basic, Programming experience in C, C++ is a plus

-Preference given to avionic and/or automotive HMI technology development experience

EDUCATION:

Master's degree or Ph.D. (preferred) in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Sciences or Equivalent
