Analyst 2, Network Cost
Carrier Management is tasked with locating and disputing billing errors, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and reporting trends and variances in T-Mobile's network costs.
This position is responsible for analyzing and processing network facilities and usage expense invoices ensuring accurate and timely payment. The Network Cost Analyst will proactively work with vendors and other T-Mobile departments collaboratively to develop greater efficiencies, accuracies, and processes while ensuring compliance with all applicable contracts, tariffs, and agreements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze, audit and process complex telecommunications invoices ensuring compliance with applicable contracts and tariffs
Review invoices for appropriateness of charges, errors or omissions and potential savings
Reconcile vendor statements, payments, outstanding balances, credits, and disputes
Manage accounts with telecommunications vendors - negotiating recoveries, minimizing outstanding balances and ensuring continuous, uninterrupted services
Provide detailed supportive documentation with all claims and payments differing from billed amounts
Establish working relationships and communications networks with involved departments, internal and external, to ensure the flow of information necessary to process and audit network invoices
Prepare month-end accruals for unpaid invoices, unbilled services and open disputes
Provide analysis and reporting as needed, including explanations of monthly operational expense variances
Follow established procedures and perform work within departmental deadlines and with limited direct supervision
Suggest process improvements to maximize accuracies and efficiencies
Qualifications:
Required:
At least two years of telecommunications or finance experience including a year of network costing and invoice auditing experience
Excellent computer/keyboard skills with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Access or other database software
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
Professional business communications skills, both written and verbal
2-year degree with a concentration in Business, Accounting or Engineering or equivalent experience
Perform effectively in an environment of multiple tasks, changing priorities and unexpected challenges
Desired:
Understanding of telephony theories and practices
Experience with telecommunications rates and rate structures
Experience in reading and interpreting technical contracts and tariffs
Experience in high volume Accounts Payable environment
Ability to transfer knowledge and best practices to team members
