Applications Tech III

Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Applications Tech III for an opportunity located in the Raleigh, NC area. 

The Applications Tech III, under general supervision and using standard procedures, provides technical assistance to customers in the identification and resolution of operational or maintenance antenna and systems problems.  Conducts the less complex analyses of antenna and system failures via telephone or data link from a centralized diagnostic center, but some travel to remote customer sites is required. 

Responsibilities Include:

Provide customer support involving the identification and resolution of routine and/or moderately complex system and product performance problems for internal and off-site customers.  Perform operational functional tests, troubleshooting, and debugging of assemblies and systems to isolate fault and determine remedy formal function.  Set up specialized test equipment for checkout of non-routine assemblies and systems.  Utilize normal diagnostic equipment and test procedures to check out, test, and troubleshoot complete systems.

Provide application assistance to internal and external Andrew customers.  Provide timely resolution to requests for application and technical issues related to systems and products. Primary support will be via phone and email

Travel to customer site to resolve semi-routine issues relating to system and product performance.

Maintain documentation of problem resolution activities.  Report trends as required.

Qualifications:

The requisite level of knowledge and skill is typically achieved through an Associate?s technical degree, preferably in engineering.

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with system integration, system assembly of equipment, building cable assemblies and harnesses, using test equipment for the analysis of complex circuits and antenna assembly.

Complete understanding of assigned systems and antennas (ESA, TMW, ValueLine and ESA Systems).

Analytical and interpretative capabilities that apply a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of standard and specialized laboratory and test equipment and troubleshooting techniques.

Comprehensive understanding of digital, analog, RF hardware and personal computers.

Experience in engineering fabrication techniques (soldering, wire wrapping, cable assembly, etc.) and proficient in reading engineering blueprints.

Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external contacts in a calm, professional manner.

Ability to travel to domestic and international customer locations as needed.
