Position Description:

The Area Section Supervisor - is the senior management position. This individual is responsible for directing personnel supporting the 24/7 operation in the section. This position has primary responsibility for developing reliability strategies for the section which will improve plant utilization and ensure Incident & Injury Free operation. This position is also expected to have impact on managing change efforts in the refinery as we try and build skills and capability in the 24/7 organization and clearly define how support groups contribute to the refinery success.

Qualifications:

Works closely with the Area Business Manager to provide resources needed to support daily operation. Works to develop and improve work processes in the daily business to improve plant reliability and operational efficiency.

Coordinates longer term support services through other refinery organizations. Assists the Area Business Manager providing continuity of information, project status, etc, to the rotating operating crews. Ensures integration of environmental compliance issues and activities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Engineering preferred
- 10 years of line operating experience which includes plant turnarounds and implementation of capital projects. Working knowledge of integrated refinery planning and economics

- Communications: Communicates in a clear, concise and understandable manner both orally and in writing. Encourages open expression of ideas/opinions. Has good listening skills.

- Business Acumen; Strong problem solving. Technical and analytical skills. Has broad knowledge of refining/chemical process and equipment. Understands overall operating plans and how area of responsibility supports facility's operating plan. Understands and communicates key business drivers to others in the organization. Understands impact of reliability on refinery performance and profitability. Demonstrated experience with distillation, reforming and Hydroprocessing processes.

- Safety/Environmental: Good safety record, good environmental record, familiar with refinery safety/environmental policies and procedures and promotes safety.

- Attendance: Must have an excellent attendance record. Lost time due to injury or sickness must be less than 2%.
