Associate Test Engineer

Minneapolis, MN

 

Responsible for supporting the development of test methods for the evaluation of new and existing Therapy Delivery products. Test development efforts will be primarily mechanical tests but may include limited electrical test development. This role interfaces extensively with the Product Development team to gather and analyze data, and then apply the knowledge gained to develop, qualify, and place into operation new test methods. Job responsibilities may also include implementing improvements to existing test methods.

 

Responsibilities:

Work closely with senior level Test Development personnel and with Product Development to develop and implement test methods and improve existing test methods. Primary test development focus will be mechanical tests, with the potential for a limited amount of electrical test development. Apply understanding of engineering mechanics to understand environmental stresses to which therapy delivery devices may be subjected. Work independently or with engineers and technicians to realize test solutions that seek to emulate these environmental stresses. Assist Product Development engineers in collecting baseline data that supports design requirements, through both testing and review of existing information such as journal articles. Record data and related information in written form, including conclusions. Define technical requirements for testing-related products and services, and interface with vendors of such products and services. Define and implement equipment and test qualification schemes using tools like Measurement Systems Analysis. Document and maintain test methods in written form. Train test technicians to utilize test methods.

 

Requirements:

Minimum requirements: BSME, BSEE or equivalent. A demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering or electrical engineering principles. A desire to work in a testing role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Requirements: BSME, BSEE, or equivalent with one year of work experience. Experience with either Labview or Matlab software environments. Some experience with basic mechanical and/or electrical test methods.
