Associate Safety Engineer

This position is in a fast paced industrial environment where explosives and propellants are being manufactured.
Some overtime and on-call is required.

Performs entry level professional safety engineering and/or industrial hygiene assignments under general supervision

50% Assists and/or conducts routine audits and inspections to identify and eliminate hazards. Includes report writing and assisting operations with corrective/preventative actions.

25% Provides training on various health and safety topics.

25% Assists in miscellaneous health and safety processes which may include accident investigations with recommendations on corrective actions, preparing educational and promotional accident prevention data.

REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Safety Engineering or in an appropriate science or a combination of education and/or directly related experience Experience in conducting safety and health inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions highly desireable. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Equipment used: Will require the use of computer systems (i.e. MS Office; Word, Excel, or Access). Will be required to wear respirator or other PPE for hazardous environments.
