Baseband Hardware Architect

1. Summary

 

Must be able to multi-task and work in a close-knit team environment. Must have good communication skills and be a strong team player/leader.

Education & Experience: Min. BSEE with a minimum 5-8 years experience.

 

2. Responsibilities

 

Major

Design Baseband Hardware System from concept to technology transfer including, Architecture design Defining hardware/software interface Technical lead in integration of, Programmable/configurable digital hardware such as PLD/FPGA Analog & digital circuits Interfaces to RF/firmware/software systemsProgramming PLD/FPGA in VHDL/Verilog Supervising PCB layout Prototyping & evaluation Interface and communication with internal/external customers and external vendors Analysis of internal/external customer needs

 

Minor

 Implementation of digital signal processing algorithms for hardware Support system/software/RF engineering team Electronic component selection and qualification Develop and execute product development plans, schedules and budgets Resolve critical/complex technical problems Mentoring junior engineers on work activities Liaison responsibilities among baseband engineering team, upper management, and headquarter?s engineering/manufacturing.

3. Critical Skills, Experience and Education

 Solid understanding of state-of-the-art wireless communication including CDMA, OFDM etc. Experience in Software-Defined Radio, IEEE802 wireless-related standards. Experience in UWB and RFID is a plus. Experience in HDL programming. Experience in firmware programming. Knowledge and experience in embedded digital systems including DSP?s, micro-controllers, memories and data conversion (DAC/ADC). Knowledge of digital hardware design. Experience in reconfigurable hardware is a strong plus. Sufficient technical knowledge and experience to be able to communicate effectively with the engineering teams, and to check/review their plans and progress. Excellent problem-solving techniques. Experience with managing vendors and consultants. Excellent written communication skills.
