Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician - Senior level

We are a vital part of the Engineered Products & Services segment of Tyco, which boasts $4.7 billion in revenues and offices in more than 40 countries.The Earth Tech, San Antonio, Texas office is seeking Senior Bioenvironmental Engineering Technicians to perform occupational and environmental health technical evaluations. We have 15 open positions throughout the United States located at various Air Force Bases. Responsibilities include conducting industrial hygiene routine and special survey assessments at Air Force facilities with emphasis on occupational health risk assessments and exposures. Collecting data to include noise effects, ventilation, illumination, thermal stress, radiation, and atmospheric pollution. Collecting samples and evaluate work environments using survey instruments such as sound level meters, air sampling equipment, radiation measuring devices, and air velocity meters. Determining effectiveness of corrective and control measures. Resolving problems encountered in industrial hygiene surveillance, community environmental evaluations, and radiological health activities. Providing assistance to other base activities on Bioenvironmental Engineering (BEE) programs. Conducting internal inspections of program activities, analyzing findings, and implementing corrective action or recommend solutions. Documenting worker exposures and identifying abatement procedures as necessary. Documenting survey results and assessments in Air Force local Environmental Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) databases. Preparing technical reports detailing findings and recommendations from assessments.

Requirements:

Specialized BEE technician training required. Successful candidates must have at least 10 years experience at a base level BEE shop and extensive knowledge of Federal and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health regulations, experience in ESOH databases, such as command core system and AF-EMIS, and must be capable of obtaining DoD security clearances as required. Must be willing to travel and perform field assessments as required. Associate of Applied Science in Bioenvironmental Engineering field preferred.
