Bridge Design Engineer position - PE required

PE BRIDGE DESIGN ENGINEER

 

Rochester, New York based engineering consulting firm has an immediate DIRECT HIRE opening for a mid-level BRIDGE DESIGN ENGINEER in their Structures Department.  A New York State Professional Engineer License is required. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES Work with clients to produce structural/bridge engineering designs and modifications by identifying project objectives and issues Develop structural design plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying structural engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria Perform design calculations relating to foundations and structures, loading, structural response, and connection design Verify and validate designs per New York state codes and standards by applying and enforcing adherence to regulations and testing requirements Complete feasibility studies by studying project concepts, objectives, priorities, and requirements Conduct site investigations Identify and establish performance standards Prepare construction documents and submittals Collaborate with related engineering and CAD design teams Evaluate structural materials and suppliers Identify and resolve design integration issues


 

REQUIRED SKILLS

Professional Engineer License in the State of New York

A minimum of five years of structural design experience

Bridge design project experience

Load rating experience

B.S. in Civil Engineering

 

PREFERABLE SKILLS

Microstation CAD package experience - enough familiarity to work with CAD team to make changes and adjustments to drawings

Bridge inspection experience

M.S. in Civil Engineering
