Bridge/Transportation Engineer

We have an immediate opening for a Bridge/Transportation Engineer to join the team in our Augusta, Maine office. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years experience in the design of bridges; strong communication skills, including good public speaking and writing skills; the ability to work independently; excellent follow-through skills; knowledge of MaineDOT and FHWA standards and procedures; and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Experience in Microstation or AutoCAD preferred. An E.I.T. or P.E. license is required, with a P.E. license planned if not yet obtained.

 

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

 

? Structural design of bridges, from culverts to multi-span structures.

? Engineering tasks in the areas of roadway and trail design.

? Collaboration with structural and transportation engineers in Maine and our other offices.

? Attendance at public meetings to present technical aspects of projects.

? Preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.

? Periodic inspection of construction projects.

 

This position requires a Bachelor?s Degree in Structural/Civil/Transportation Engineering.
