CAD Designer for Movable Glass Walls

Support sales of DORMA products by providing technical support to our customers and sales force.  In-house expert on entire DORMA Glas product range providing both consultative and diagnostic application support.  Provide guidance and generalized knowledge base support to architects, specifiers, customers, sales force, R & D, and product management teams. Develop professional expertise in the area of customer relations and consultative selling.

 

Respond to customer technical, product, or application information requests primarily via phone, fax, or e-mail. Reinforce brand positioning through professional, timely actions.Maintain appropriate contact and activity records.

Make recommendations for continual improvement of Technical Services team information management processes. Maintain reference library covering both current and obsolete DORMA Glas products, competing products, associate products (like doors and frames), applicable codes, and industry standards.Participate in preparation, review, and maintenance of product catalogs, installation instructions, application templates, and other related technical documents.Develop working knowledge of the Glas industry specific terminology, and commercial construction processes as they relate to Technical Support team activities.Re-design Detail Book/Design Guide

 

Technical Support

Act as primary resource to both external and internal customers, providing product and system solutions to specific applications.Identify new sales opportunities and work with Product Manager(s) to deliver specialized product application/functional solutions.  Technical support to Customers, Architects, APC Reps. and Modernfold Distributors. Site visits for hardware application issues and for installation and repair.

 

Diagnostic

Diagnose customer reported product performance issues with the objective of resolving the issue and identifying the root cause.Recommend required corrective actions for specific product application problems.Document actual, or suspected, product application or performance failures to support problem resolution processes. Develop in-depth knowledge of current product performance capabilities and industry best practices related to product application.

 

Successful candidate should  have highh school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of 3 to 5 years technical experience in the field preferably in the Building Construction Industry or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 2 years experience in the commercial glass industry. Proven technical experience servicing temperers, glaziers, glass door manufacturers is strongly recommended. Mechanical aptitude is required. Proficient with Auto Cad and Microsoft office applications.
