CAD Layout Technician

Long-term contract position located in Grand Rapids, MI for experienced CAD Technician!

The CAD Layout Technician shall develop and maintain accurate department Q-sheet files for assigned remodel stores equipment and fixture layouts, and maintain accurate square footage base CAD files of the same reflecting all internal department modifications.
Assist in the development of specialty layouts depicting critical customer assistance information stations, data and communication devices, and life safety equipment, among other information.
Assist in conducting field verification of existing equipment and location, as well as current building conditions for assigned remodel stores.
Verify base CAD files and ProFloor (Plan-o-grams) Merchandising Layouts base files remain synchronized upon issuing final layouts for A/E development and procurement.
File final Q-sheet files within the document repository.
Assist in the development and / or modification of a variety of other related projects as required.
The CAD Layout Technician reports directly to the A/E Manager of Retail Design and is under close supervision of the Design Team Lead. The A/E Manager of Retail Design or the Design Team Lead will administer all assignments.

The CAD Layout Technician shall have, or be working towards an Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Drafting Technology, Architecture, Interior Design, Facility Design or other related fields. Must have certification in CAD application software, preferably Bentley MicroStation.
Two (2) years plus of related technical experience in CAD. Demonstration of standard drafting practice knowledge and drawing composition. Detail oriented with good communication skills. Self motivated independent worker.
