CEV Principal Mechanical Engineer

The LAS Principal Structures Engineer will perform design and analysis tasks in support of the CEV Launch Abort System (LAS) design, development and production. This includes production of a static test frame, motor simulators, tooling, and test fixtures. The structures engineer will perform test planning, test oversight, post-test data reduction and analysis for static loads and acoustic, and ground vibration testing. The structures engineer will also plan and coordinate structural testing, acquire and reduce structure test data, write structure loads and environments test reports and produce specifications, coordinate analyses, document technical details for deliverables. The LAS Structures Engineer will report directly to the LAS Structures Lead. Responsibilities include weekly interfacing with NASA and Lockheed Martin customers and structures teams, presentations at monthly reviews and technical interchange meetings, and supporting deliverable documentation.

Some travel may be required.

EDUCATION:
BS Engineering, Math, or Physics required. Masters preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Seven years of aerospace design and development experience is required with emphasis on launch vehicles desired.
Experience leading design and development teams required with emphasis in launch vehicles desired.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:
Working Knowledge of Windows and MS Office.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in IDEAS and familiarity with ProE desired.
