CEV Senior Principal Software Engineer

The LAS Software CAM will manage all aspects of LAS Software cost, schedule, analyses and products in support of the CEV Launch Abort System (LAS) design, development and production.
The LAS Software CAM is responsible for leading the LAS Software organization and subcontractors in the daily execution of duties that include requirements, test, verification and analysis as well as all aspects of subcontractor performance in the design, development, test and production of the LAS Software system. The LAS Software team will levy requirements on and monitor the development of any firmware residing on the LAS motors and any software required for Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and will work closely with the CEV team in implementing the software and verifying the performance.
The LAS Software CAM will report directly to the LAS Chief Engineer and will have Software engineers as direct reports. Responsibilities include weekly interfacing with NASA and Lockheed Martin customers and Software teams, presentations at monthly reviews and technical interchange meetings, supporting deliverable documentation, planning and executing within cost and schedule, and supervising Orbital individuals and the performance of Software teams composed of Orbital, NASA, Lockheed Martin and subcontractor engineers.

Some travel may be required.

Position contingent upon CEV Authority To Proceed.

BS Engineering, Math, or Physics required. Masters preferred.
10+ years of aerospace Software design and development experience is required with emphasis on launch vehicles and solid rocket boosters desired.
Experience leading Software design and development teams required with emphasis in launch vehicles and missiles desired.
Experience managing major subcontractors and suppliers required.
Experience with CMMI Level III or greater desired.
Supervisory experience required.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Working Knowledge of Windows and MS Office.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Experience with NASA human rating requirements and programs desired.
Experience in the successful execution of rapid development and test programs desired.
