W.L. Gore & Associates is seeking an engineering analyst to work in our Medical Products Division in Flagstaff, AZ. The position's commitment is to provide analytical support in the areas of medical product design, optimization, and new products development. This support will consist of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of transient flow, species transport, porous jumps, mass transport and heat transfer analysis, fluid-structure interaction and other analytical procedures that will assist in the application, design and manufacture of medical products.


As a part of an analysis team, the successful applicant will be involved in establishing new or "cutting edge" analysis procedures, developing advanced modeling and analysis techniques for a varied number of types of problems. The position requires excellent communication skills to interface analysis assumptions, techniques, and output data to internal and external customers.

Qualifications
Experience in computational fluid dynamics, specifically analysis in Fluent as well as with related pre- and post-processing software, and the programming languages C++ and FORTRAN. Additionally, experience in creating user-defined functions (UDF's), Fluid-Structure Interaction modeling using Abaqus and Fluent, Knowledge of UNIX and Windows with a strong background in numerical modeling with excellent programming skills is essential.


The successful applicant will have a minimum of a Masters of Science degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in computational fluid dynamics analysis. Medical experience is preferred with a strong emphasis in hemodynamics while not required and he/she should be a fast learner and comfortable working in a small team. Excellent spoken and written communication skills are required.
