CNS Test & Certification Engineer

At J.F. Taylor, Inc., our primary business is engineering and professional services in support of United States military aviation programs.  We are located in Southern Maryland near the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

 

Founded in 1983, our core projects are in hardware and software systems, aircraft training and simulation devices, systems engineering, test support, and instrumentation of real-time data systems.

 

We are a hands-on technical company comprised of electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians, computer scientists, and professional support personnel.  Although our expertise is in engineering services, as a full-service contractor we provide a wide range of project management and administrative services as well.

 

We have an immediate opening on our Communication, Navigation and Identification (CNI) Program in support of the U.S. Navy PMA-209 Comm, Nav, Surveillance Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) test certification process and requirements.  Support includes refinement of the Test Point Matrix to remain synchronized to revisions in the Mode S, RNP/RNAV, RVSM, and 8.33 kHz Spacing Functional Requirements Documents;  coordinating certification testing with test planners and test conductors; and coordinating data package submission and other certification approval steps.

 

BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering discipline preferred.  Experience with U.S.N Avionics developmental test and acquisition test management; Comm, Nav, and/or ID system; DoD 5000 acquisition process; and coordinating efforts of a large and diverse engineering team, tracking task assignments and execution to completion is preferred.  Avionics test experience and technical understanding of RF equipment in military applications is desired.  Some travel required.  U.S. Citizenship and a secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is also required.
