COMPONENTS/RELIABILITY/QUALITY ENGINEER

COMPONENTS ENGINEER   DESCRIPTION: Work as a component engineer in the space department in support of NASA and Military space programs,
Duties;
Support the parts control board activities with internal design engineers, external subcontractors, vendors and sponsors including but not limited to EEE parts selections, screening & qualification, de-rating and approval.
Generate test travelers & review test data for vendor and in house. Coordinate with external test houses as required.
Generate, review and disposition part discrepancy forms including supporting MRB activities associated with part failures from DPA screening or qualification.
Generate SCD's associated with parts procurement as well as generate & review parts requisitions.

Provide support in the development of internal process and procedures, as well as support correct active generation and close out.

REQUIRES:

Requires - BS degree in Math, science, Engineering or related field with a minimum 5 years work exp. In EEE parts engineering. Comprehensive knowledge of EEE parts engineering activities for NASA space flight programs. Knowledge and applications of NASA documents and policies: EEE-INST-002, PPL-21, parts selection, de-rating, and test. Must have experience in qualifying PEM's & COTS for space flight applications. Must have a high degree of initiative and problem solving skills, with the ability to make oral and written arguments in support of Parts Control Board activities. Work in a team and as an individual - must have proficiency with all Microsoft office tools. Must have the ability to obtain clearance for access to classified information.

Desired - should have knowledge in Materials engineering and or radiation effects (TID, SEE, ELDRS), relational real time database systems (ERP or MRP) and earned value management.  Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio (or other flowcharting software) and understanding of AS9100 requirements. Existing or prior  clearance  would be a plus
