Position Description ? Chassis Brakes Cost Engineer / Analyst

 

Typical experiences for estimating analysts may include:

 

?  Develop piece cost and tooling estimate requests for assigned commodities.  This will required an extensive understanding of manufacturing cost structure and supply base capability.

?  Actively support the Commodity Business Plan (CBP) process for assigned commodity.

?  Support continued development of Cost Models for assigned commodity.

?  Support teardown, target agreement and change control process for multiple vehicle programs.

?  Actively support continuous improvement, benchmarking best practices and identification of material cost reduction opportunities for assigned commodity.

 Preferred Qualifications

 

As an Analyst, one should be able to:

? Demonstrate a broad understanding of the brake systems with a focus on actuation, modulation, hydraulic fluids, mechanical hardware and its application to motor vehicles.

? Possess an expertise in various brake manufacturing processes including machining of ferrous and non-ferrous materials for hydraulic pumps, isolators, attenuators, actuators valves.

? Possess manufacturing and processing expertise to final assemble the brake system componenets.

? Possess the ability to contruct and analyze manufacturing costs by reviewing sketches, blueprints, functional and performance information.

? Hands-on high volume automotive OEM Brake plant experience preferred.

? Hands-on manufacturing experience should include background in:  mechanical and hydraulic brake boosters, antilock brake system (ABS), inter vehclie dynamics (IVD), traction control system(TCS), rear stability control (RSC) and controls.

? Demonstrate a solid grasp of business concepts, realistic judgment, and quantitative and critical thinking skills. 

? Maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problems.

? Plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period.

? Write and speak clearly, concisely and persuasively.

? Model and describe leadership (integrity, drive, courage and initiative) in personal and professional experiences.

? Work effectively with others.

 

Candidates must possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree with significant manufacturing experience.

 

Candidates must have 3+ years of solid experience to apply.
