Chemical Product Engineer

  Our Niagara Falls-based client is a growing privately-owned and operated specialty chemical manufacturer.

 

They are seeking a Chemical Engineer with strong leadership & chemical processing skills to assume a Production Management leadership role in the company?s manufacturing department. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing. The company has been in business for over 80 years and boasts an impressive record of success.

 

Responsibilities:

?  Manage daily operations for a 24/7 manufacturing facility; time on floor approx 50%

?  Motivate, lead and communicate with team

?  Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize impact

?  Encourages suggestions to improve production, quality, safety and/or environmental compliance

?  Keeps management informed on operating and/or employee issues needing attention

 

Requirements:

?  BS Chemical Engineering (MS or PE a plus)

?  7+ years in Chemical process industry, Production Management Required

?  Essential technical skills required:

o  Crystallization

o  Heat transfer

o  Drying technologies

o  Control systems

 

Other desired skills:

?  Experience troubleshooting, equipment operation, hands-on operations

?  Proven leadership skills & desire to make a difference!

?  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all organization levels

?  Self-starter, willing to take initiative to improve operational effectiveness

?  Union experience a plus

 

Compensation:

?  Competitive package starting at $65,000-75,000; upwardly negotiable with experience

?  Work week:  Monday-Friday, 6:30am ? 4:30pm, additional/weekend hours as required.
