Chief Naval Architect

Gibbs & Cox, Inc., a Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm in northern Virginia is currently seeking a CHIEF NAVAL ARCHITECT.

 

Job Description:

 

Candidate must be able to work independently or on project teams.  Will be responsible for leading medium to large naval architecture projects/teams, or lead medium to large multi-disciplined projects/teams.  Also responsible for managing cost, schedules, and technical product development.Supervises junior to senior staff on projects or teams.  Performs quality assurance reviews of complex analyses, calculations and drawings developed by junior and mid-level staff.  Interacts with clients at a peer level.

 

Job Requirements:

 

? Master?s Degree or equivalent education in Naval Architecture or Marine, Ocean or Aerospace Engineering, and experience in early phase total ship design, stability, and seakeeping analysis.

? Professional Engineering Certification (in Naval Architecture or other applicable discipline) and 18+ years of professional engineering experience.

? Proficiency in using industry-standard naval architecture software tools, including familiarity with AutoCAD, and naval architecture software such as fastship, SMP, GHS and Asset.  Experience with military and commercial design standards is highly desirable.

? Must be a US citizen.
