Circuit Design Engineer

DUTIES: This is essentially a block level circuit design engineer position.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for using the client's internal place and route tools, and physical design verification tools, to own and maintain (from the physical side) datapaths, control blocks, custom blocks, and possibly register files, for the rock project.

In this role, the contractor will be responsible for composing the blocks, and making sure they adhere to the Rock project's physical requirements, which include, but aren't limited to:

+ LVS - the physical layout is consistent with the schematic
+ DRC - the physical layout satisfies the physical rules for metal spacing etc. as defined by the rock project
+ ERC - the design satisfies the electrical requirements of the rock project
+ EM/IR - the design satisfies the requirements the project has for eliminating the current and voltage drops in the design, as well as is within  the acceptable limits for potential electromigration issues
+ Noise - the design is within any electrical noise limits
set by the rock project

The candidate isn't required to have previous experience with datapaths, control blocks, custom blocks, or register files, but it is a plus.  Any ramp up or training here likely wont be significant.


SKILLS: The candidate should have a good fundamental understanding of VLSI design.

EDUCATION:  An MS/EE should be sufficient, but industry experience is a plus.
