Position: Civil Engineer III

Position Requirements:

 

Engineer III

 

Education/Experience

 

BSCE or Equivalent Work Experience

E.I.T. or P.E. (Preferred)

More than 5 Years Civil Engineering Design Experience

 

Design

 

The Engineer III must be integrally involved in the design, plan preparation, quality control and processing of a project.  Given the work environment at Carson/Ashley the Engineer III must work closely with other team members and management to maintain budgets, schedules and overall design quality.  The Engineer III must have more than 5 years design experience in the following areas:

?  Stormwater runoff; hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage and floodplain studies, storm drainage and culvert design, stormwater management/best management practices design

?  Site/Subdivision plans; street plans and profiles, grading plans, sanitary sewer design, waterline design, erosion and sediment control design, landscape design, parking layout, etc.

 

Quality Control System

 

Of vital importance to the long-term success of the business, Quality Control is the most important aspect of every employee?s job.  As such, every final plan, plat, drawing and study that is prepared will be subject to a Quality Control review by the Production Manager who will check for accuracy and completeness in accordance with the general check-lists contained in the Quality Control Manual. 

 

Project Coordination

 

Generally speaking, the Engineer III will oversee the actual design activities on a given project. The Engineer III shall work with supervisors and other engineering staff to carry-out appropriate schedules for assigned projects.  In addition, the Engineer III may be asked to attend scheduling meetings to report on the current progress of assigned projects.  The Engineer III will see that priorities are carried out as expediently as possible.

 

Computer Systems

 

Given the importance of computers in the Engineering field, the Engineer III must be comfortable with our Computer Systems, especially as they apply to land development, CADD, networking and remote communications.  More specifically, qualifications include:

 

?  More than 5 Years experience in computer drafting and design

?  Proficiency with AutoCAD? (Release 2002 or later) and Land Development Desktop?

?  Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs and the Microsoft Window XP? or newer operating systems.

?  Proficiency with computer software used for hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design.
