 Job Description

 

Medium sized engineering firm with long history of success in the industry is searching for an outgoing and self-motivated individual to manage numerous civil engineering projects, develop engineering designs and coordinate the preparation of civil engineering plans with the CAD staff, prepare contract documents and specifications, and interface with clients.  All candidates must be licensed in the State of Texas as a Professional Engineer.  A minimum of 5 years Civil Engineering experience is required.  Additionally, experience with the design and project management of commercial site projects is required.  Applicants should also be familiar with the design requirements of local jurisdictions in the greater Houston area. 

 Job Requirements

 

?  Project management of several Civil Engineering projects simultaneously including client interface, agency coordination, deadline and job cost management.

?  Development of Engineering designs and the management of CAD staff in the preparation of Civil Engineering Construction Drawings.

?  Preparation of takeoff estimates, bid packages, contract documents, and technical specifications.

 Required Qualifications

 

?  Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas

?  B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering

?  Minimum 5 years previous experience in Civil Engineering

?  Experience with commercial site design and project management

?  Skills must include knowledge of grading and drainage principles, detention analysis, flood plain mitigation, water and wastewater design, paving design, and storm water quality.

?  Additional experience with Municipal Utility Districts and/or Land Development is preferable

?  Strong proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook

?  Good technical writing and communication skills including knowledge of industry accepted civil engineering formats.

?  Basic understanding of Autocad and Land Desktop Development software is preferred.

 

 

Work Schedule ? Monday thru Thursday 7:30 a.m. ? 5:30 p.m.

Friday 8:00 a.m. ? 12:00 p.m.

 

Compensation ? Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
