Civil/Structural Design Lead Engineer

This position is for a Lead Civil/Structural Design Engineer at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant.  This lead position requires the incumbent to possess proven leadership and mentoring skills.  As a member of the Design Engineering Unit, The incumbent will be required to lead or participate on multi-discipline/organizational teams that are responsible for the development and implemention of plant modification packages, as well as the assessment of equipment/plant performance issues and development of appropriate corrective actions.  The incumbent will be required to provide oversight for applicable design processes and maintenance of design documentation.  The incumbent will also be required to perform engineering evaluations/calculations, provide engineering field support for daily plant operation/maintenance activities, and provide support for the site Emergency Response Organization.

Requirements: 
---BS degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) from an ABET or equivalently accredited school
---7+ years experience in the nuclear power industry (or related field) is required. 
---Professional Engineer license is desirable.
---Demonstrated ability to provide effective engineering leadership of projects from conceptual design through installation.
---Strong working knowledge of ACI and AISC Codes, Seismic design, ANSI N45.2.11, and configuration management is required. 
---SQUG certification or demonstrated strength in seismic equipment qualification is desirable. 
---Demonstrated skills in teamwork and written and verbal communication are required.
---This position will require plant outage support and some off normal work hour call-out.
---Additional requirements include obtaining and maintaining unescorted access to the nuclear plant.

Basic qualifications:

Lead level.  Coaches and communicates with other team members to implement objectives.  Plans and assigns personnel for projects and tasks.  Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET or equivalently accredited school and 7+ years professional experience.
