Client Silicon Planning Manager

Drive the process for defining a competitive client (mobile and desktop) silicon product roadmap, including driving the development of new product concepts to meet incremental market opportunities. Work internally with the Segment Marketing and Product Management Teams to clearly define the market requirements for various product segments and feed those to the engineering teams for comprehension. Actively solicit input from OEMs/ISVs and 3rd party infrastructure partners on future product directions. Act as the inclusive catalyst for working through product trade-offs to deliver optimal product definitions.

Specific Job Functions:
Manage the Client Product Planning Council (CPPC), the forum that reviews technology, product and market concepts and recommends them for development. Actively solicit input and participation from the Segment Marketing and Product Marketing teams when defining market requirements and product concepts. Perform Competitive Analysis within the CPU and PC market landscape. Program manage the development of new product concepts. Represent the Client Business unit on product development teams for approved projects. Represent the Client Business unit in cross-business forums that decide resource allocation priorities.

Regularly visit AMD customers and partners to gather platform requirements and present AMD CPU roadmaps and/or product concepts. Deliver presentations that promote AMD solutions and marketing plans both internally and externally.


Qualifications:

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS/BA in Engineering or Computer Science required with MBA preferred. Minimum 10+ years of experience in the computer or semiconductor technology industry including developing hardware products and working with infrastructure Partners and OEM Customers. This position requires knowledge of a high technology marketing environment and thorough understanding of customer needs and effective communication and positive human relations skills.
