Compliance Technician- Product Safety

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform testing to various regulatory test standards.  This includes but is not limited to UL60950, EN 60950 and IEC 60950 under the direction of the Compliance Safety Engineers.  This may include temperature, short circuit, hipot testing and other specific tests as required.  Perform accurate equipment configuration, setup and documentation to each particular test standard.  Maintain a thorough knowledge of all applicable test standards and industry practices to insure accurate measurements.  Produce accurate and detailed test data sheets for inclusion in the UL or ETL test reports.  Progress to the level of completing required information for the test reports.  Available for limited travel and overtime as required.  Provide general lab support.  Perform routine maintenance and general cleaning of Safety laboratory area and monitor and insure proper calibration of all measurement equipment.  Recommend and implement improvements to the laboratory operations as well as support the development of operating procedures for each test.

 

Requirements:

At least two years general technician experience preferable in an engineering laboratory environment and a thorough knowledge of fundamental electronic theory.  Ability to perform measurements using basic laboratory equipment such as voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes, etc.  Detail oriented and well organized individual who is self motivated and able to work with limited supervision.  Good computer skills including basic abilities with Microsoft office products.  Familiarity with automated test software a plus. 

 

Required Education: 

2 year associate degree or certificate in electronics or related field.
