Composites & Bonding Manager

DESCRIPTION

Wichita, Kansas is the headquarters for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., which was purchased by Onex Corp. from Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2005. In addition to Wichita, the company has operations in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma, and the United Kingdom. Spirit AeroSystems supplies commercial airplane assemblies and components, provides aftermarket support, and designs and fabricates tooling.


Manager of Composites and Bonding. Responsible for the integration and
coordination of all elements of composites/bonding fabrication and assemblies
for 787 program ensuring quality, cost, and schedule commitments are achieved.
Administer overall program budgets and schedule, and provide guidance to teams
in development of flow down budgets and schedules. Monitor and control work in
progress for technical adequacy, completions, provide assistance to meet
schedules, and resolve technical/customer requirements. Provides assistance to
teams in resolving conflicts ensuring resolutions of issues. Ensure compliance
to collective bargaining agreements and company policies and procedures.
Properly administers formal disciplinary action when required. Provides teams
needed resources, support, training, and development in order to meet
established goals. Interfaces with program and functional management and the
customer. Communicate with all levels of management and direct reports both
verbally and in written form. Ability to understand business objectives and
communicate to workforce the relevance of their contribution. This position will
require assisting in staffing responsibilities, determining requirements, and
developing employees along with setup and process/product flows through the
manufacturing process. Prefer strong technical background in composite
technology and processes.

Applicant must be adept at fundamental computer skills (MS Work, Excel,
Powerpoint, etc.). this position requires demonstrated leadership skills and
expertise in dealing with empowerment and world-class manufacturing
technologies. Requires the ability to provide clear and concise feedback to
others. Excellent communications skills both orally and in writing. Requires the
ability to manage change in a fast paced, challenging, diverse environment.
Requires strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, coaching,
mentoring and training facilitation. Must be able to work any shift.REQUIREMENTSPrefer a bachelor's degree and 5 years experience in fabrication or
