Compressor Product Engineer

Work in the La Crosse Product Engineering group with responsibility for the centrifugal compressor production designs. Work with suppliers to develop and qualify new castings and materials. Additional responsibilities include providing technical support for field service technicians, marketing, and production assembly and machining.
* Develop and qualify new castings and materials for the centrifugal product.
* Develop design solutions for compressor improvement projects.
* Plan and direct the efforts of project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost, and schedule objectives.
* Conduct laboratory testing as required.
* Support field and factory problem resolution.
* Less than 10% travel required.
Bachelor?s or master?s degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering required. Knowledge of foundry practices and materials engineering a plus. Some project leadership experience desired, with a clear capability to lead project teams. Strong mechanical background with design process knowledge required. Must be proficient in problem solving. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must have demonstrated skills in directing activities of others. Must be personal computer literate within a Windows environment and proficient with Microsoft Office. Must become Green Belt certified within 2 years of starting job.
