Position Responsibilities:  Prefer the assignment of a permanent employee of Shaw or Areva, but would agree to contracted employee as an alternate.  Structural engineer for MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility.  Responsible for performing analysis and design of Seismic Category I structures with emphasis of reinforced concrete structures. Perform engineering analyses and designs with general management and supervisory direction.  Develop and check analyses, prepare reports, presentations and documentation of results.  Implement requirements of ACI-349.  Understand and apply QA procedures relating to project planning, analyses, reports and software.


Required Qualifications:  Minimum 5 years experience after award of Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline.  Demonstrated skills and abilities required for experience level.  Good planning, communication and organization skills.  Understanding of regulatory requirements for analysis and design of safety-related structures.  Familiarity with ACI, AISC, ASCE 4 & 7 building design codes and standards.  Experience in design of reinforced concrete structures.  Working knowledge of and understanding of interfaces with other engineering disciplines. Lesser experience level will be considered depending on experience and salary requirements.





Desired Qualifications:  Engineer with experience in concrete analysis & design and seismic reinforcing requirements.  Experience with ANSYS and/or GTSTRUDL and comparable finite element analysis programs.  Engineer with experience in detailed analysis and design of reinforced concrete applying ACI-349.
