As a Configuration Management Engineer, you will define the methods, procedures, and tools to control software products throughout their development cycle. In this capacity, the position requires technical knowledge in source control and build tools and with software development and configuration management processes.  Specifically, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe is the tool used for source control, therefore experience and proficiency with SourceSafe is required.

 

The CM Engineer will work closely with the development and management teams to define and implement the build process for DOEHRS-IH products.  The Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System – Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH) application provides Department of Defense (DoD) industrial hygienists with the capability to track and monitor DoD worker’s potential exposures to hazardous conditions.  DOEHRS-IH provides functionality to analyze collected data to recommend controls to provide a safer work environment for employees.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive knowledge of source control systems, branching methodologies and defect tracking systems.  The CM Engineer shall be able to manage release schedules, perform functional and physical configuration audits and execute releases according to the schedule.

 

Candidate must be able to work independently to install, configure, administer, and trouble shoot the following products: Microsoft Visual Source Safe, Mercury Interactive Test Director and Quick Test Professional.  The candidate will also be responsible to ensure that backup and restore procedures are documented, tested, and performed daily; ensure that documentation is current; provide support to development staff; and provide tools training to new project members.



The following are the Basic Qualifications for this position

 

? Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years experience

? Strong Java build experience using ANT as the build tool.

? Strong analytical skills, to include the ability to do release dependency analysis.

? Experience managing source code control applications, including Visual Source Safe.

? Demonstrated ability to multi-task supporting more than one project/subproject team

? Good verbal and written communication skills

 

Experience in the following areas is an asset:

 

? Strong system administration skills in a Microsoft environment

? Experience with TestDirector and Quick Test Professsional

? Experience with Oracle application servers and databases
