Construction CAD Drafter

 

Job Title:   CAD Drafter  Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

 

Department:  Engineering  Reports to:  Engineering Dept. Manager

 

Position Summary:

 

A CAD Drafter will work individually and as part of a team to develop, maintain, and update master drawing files, execute site and plan revisions from the Engineering Manager, Structural Engineer, and the CAD Drafting Leader. 



Responsibilities:

 

1.  Prepare full and accurate sets of structural drawings.

2.  Print and plot work projects.

3.  Provide bill of materials to the Purchasing Department.

4.  Coordinate and monitor the construction plan review process to ensure the accurate site and construction drawings.  Make modifications and changes as required.

5.  Maintain and update drawings and files as required throughout the life-cycle of the construction project.

6.  Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Engineering Department Manager.

 

Education/Experience:

 

 A two year degree in Architectural or Engineering Computer Aided Drafting or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the field.  This position will also require a good working knowledge of the software listed below.

 

Equipment to be used:

 

-Autodesk: AutoCAD 2006 and DWF Compressor

-Adobe Acrobat Reader

-Microsoft XP, Word, Excel, Outlook

-Computer, fax machine, telephone, calculator, printer, plotter, and copier

 

Typical Physical Demands:

 

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.  May require lifting of up to 50 lbs.  A normal range of hearing and vision is required. 

 

Working Conditions:

 

Combination of office and site work.

 

Travel:

 

Up to 5% annually with some overnight travel required.
