Position Description:

Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Construction Manager, located in El Segundo/Richmond, CA or Pascagoula, MS (0603-50150652) through December 29, 2006.

Global Refining has several capital projects planned. The projects that the Construction Manager would handle are in the $2-$25MM range. The Construction Manager will be responsible to ensure that work is planned and executed with excellence.

Qualifications:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Oversees and contributes to constructability plans and ensures they are of high quality.
-Ensuring that the design is developed such that shutdown work is minimized along with unit downtime.
-Development and refinement of project contracting strategies and plans.
-Ensuring that contractor detailed execution plans are well developed and integrated with other work.
-Managing both the pre-shutdown and shutdown work.
-Develops and implements staffing plans for construction
-Administration of the construction contracts.
-Champions safety in a manner such that the project can be executed without anyone being hurt.

Key competencies associated with the assignment are:

-Meets the requirements of Project Professional Career Ladder Salary Grade 23/24 (as highlighted above) with 20 years of experience.
-Strong knowledge of project management tools and practices and how these can be used to drive excellence in project outcomes.
-Downstream project experience with knowledge of complex project and facilities integration issues.
-Extensive construction and/or shutdown management experience.
-Demonstrated HES performance with a strong commitment to executing the project without any injuries or environmental incidents.
-Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and contractors and mold them into a team that supports one another in achieving results.
-Strong planning skills that include both work activities and manpower/staffing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; 20 years experience.
Familiarity with gated decision making processes.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Demonstrated HES performance with a strong commitment to executing the project without any injuries or environmental incidents.

Downstream project experience with knowledge of complex project and facilities integration issues.

Strong knowledge of CPDEP and CSOC and how to use these tools and behaviors to drive excellence in project outcomes.

Extensive construction and/or shutdown management experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong planning skills that include both work activities and manpower/staffing.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 annually
