Construction Manager/Surveyor

Position:  Construction Manager/Surveyor  

Location: Platte River region of western Nebraska, Southeastern Wyoming and northern Colorado.  Position will be working from a home office in a location within the region.   

The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team dedicated toward accomplishing DU?s mission in the area of western Nebraska, Southeastern Wyoming and northern Colorado.  Assignments within the region will also occur.  Responsibilities will include assisting Regional Engineers with surveys, drafting, and construction management, on wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects.  The successful applicant will be responsible for scheduling and completion of surveys, preliminary reconnaissance of design data, drafting of engineering plans, and close monitoring of projects under construction.  A close working relationship with local, state and federal personnel, private landowners, and other conservation partners will be an important aspect of the job.



Duties/Responsibilities:Draft construction plans on civil type projectsGenerate topographic map using Land Desktop softwarePerform quantity calculations for civil type projectsAssist surveyors in topographic survey and construction staking.  Ability to perform topographic survey without supervision within 6 months  Project construction inspectionDesign wetland restoration projects commensurate with experience

 

Qualifications:A minimum of five years experience or a combination of 5 years experience and education in civil engineering, construction management or civil engineering technology Proficient in using AutoCAD for the drafting of civil projects Autodesk Land Desktop  experience desirableTotal Station / GPS Survey experience desirableConstruction Inspection experience desirableExperience in Water Resources desirable

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience
