Continuous Process Improvement Senior Engineer

We are currently seeking a North American Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Senior Engineer. The North American CPI Senior Engineer will be instrumental in leading continuous process improvement methodology and championing major product engineering and quality process improvements throughout the North America Supply Chain. This leadership position works directly with New Product Development, Sourcing, R&D, and Manufacturing Management/Engineers to re-engineer product delivery practices within the Supply Chain and reduce the cost of quality non-conformance. This position draws on fact-based analysis and best practices from the Manufacturing and North American Supply Chain Organizations to lead and drive cross-functional process change and transformation. Additionally, it will be an important liaison with Global Manufacturing to benchmark, leverage and translate ?best practices.?

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Evaluate internal manufacturing processes and establish appropriate CPI application and tools that align with functional goals and strategies to drive improvement opportunities. In connection with Global Product Development and R&D, establish and implement new protocols to effectively develop and transmit comprehensive product specifications, stability, and line testing requirements for new products. Establish process, procedures, and implementation plan for vendor quality certification and linkage to Manufacturing database. Coach and train Manufacturing management and associates on relevant aspects of Lean, CPI, and Six Sigma process methodology. Acts as lead in cross-functional process improvement projects requiring the expertise of Manufacturing. Ensures that project tracking and metrics are maintained and networks in benchmarking with other Global Manufacturing facilities.

REQUIREMENTS

BS in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or other equivalent technical field required; MBA or advanced degree a plus. 5-10 years business experience in operations, logistics or engineering capacity. 3+ years in quality and CPI role a plus. Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing experience required; Certified Blackbelt preferred. Desired experience in one or more of the following tools/disciplines: 5S, visual work place, mistake proofing, Poke Yoke, Voice of the Customer (CTQ), DPU/DPMO, Operational Definitions, Control Plans, Control Charts, Total Productive Maintenance, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Rolled Throughput Yield, Pull Systems, Theory of Constraints, FMEA, Gauge R&R, ANOVA, Regression Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, Designs of Experiments, Value Stream Mapping, SIPOC, Cause and Effect Matrix (C&E), QFD, SMED, Change Over Operations. Demonstrated project management skills and proficiency with applicable software. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Change agent with the demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization and build solid networks. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement best practices. Strong computer skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Access required; basic programming skills desired. Demonstrated skills in basic financial management. Ability to manage, lead and be led in a matrix managed environment. Experience with GMP?s required. Knowledge and experience of FDA regulations a plus. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be open to future relocation.
