Contracts Manager-Technology

This position will report to the Global Contracts (GC) Manager and have contracting responsibilities on a global scale. GC team members are accountable for the negotiation of strategic contracts; development of customized contract solutions; and providing a depth of contracting expertise to the HP Indirect Procurement organization.







 



The position will be focused on HP’s Technology purchases, and will be expected to lead Technology contracting negotiations on both a local and global level.  Applicants must demonstrate strong global communication and knowledge transfer skills.







 



GC negotiators must be capable of exercising independent judgment and demonstrating expertise with significant contract risk issues in areas such as confidentiality, indemnity, intellectual property, termination, privacy, insurance, and limitations of liability.  Contributors must exhibit the capacity to identify emerging contract issues based on changing business conditions, and create and apply distinctive solutions to these issues within the Indirect Procurement environment. Team members will also lead the development and maintenance of HP’s standard contract templates.  Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams is required.





 



 



 



Recommended Experience and Qualifications





Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent required; law degree preferred (active bar membership not required)

 


Demonstrated success in leading strategic negotiations involving complex terms and conditions from start to finish

 
Experience in engaging and influencing senior executives

 
Extensive experience planning and managing complex negotiations, with a focus on legal terms and conditions.

 
Proven advocacy skills applied in the context of legal terms negotiations.

 
Ability to strategically influence an outcome without direct authority. 
Demonstrated problem-solving ability.

 
Excellent project management and teamwork skills.

 
Strong global communication skills.





 



Technology specific skills, including:







 



Minimum five (5) years experience procuring Technology

 



 
Familiarity with Technology industry trends
Familiarity with the current regulatory environment in major countries where HP has offices
