Control Systems/Project Engineer

Job Requirements:

 

Bachelor's or Graduate degree in a related engineering discipline. PE license, preferred.  Specialized industry related experience should include 5-10 years supporting Oil/Refinery or Specialty Chemical design projects.  Project related experience should include: a strong background in process controls and safety systems as well as experience and knowledge of work processes associated with project based capital installations. A working knowledge of Emerson?s Distributed Process Control (DCS) systems will be a plus. On-site startup and commissioning support experience is preferred. Candidate should possess strong computer skills, ie., MS Word, Excel, Visio, Project and various email systems.

Job Responsibilities:

 

? Working under the guidance of the Program Manager with minimal supervision, individual is responsible for assisting in the assignment will be to primarily support the Safety Instrumented System (SIS) program. The IS program involves implementation of Emerson?s Process Control?s DeltaV SIS hardware for approximately 60 reactor trains in 30 manufacturing sites

? Follow project through detailed design phase, providing interpretation of conceptual specs, quality assurance reviews of design deliverables and assistance with establishing SIF set points

? Ensure that the detail design efforts are completed in a timely manner,  quality standards are met, and management of change procedures are completed

? Excellent communication and documentation skills. Interface with client as needed to resolve issues and obtain approval of proposed detailed designs



?  Participate in the startup and validation of the systems (loop commissioning, testing, SIF validation and training for operations and maintenance) and assist in start-up planning 

?  Some travel may be required as the projects transition to start up phase
