Controls/Automation Engineer

Exciting opportunity:  Join an expanding engineering team in a dynamic environment at a growing company.  Lafayette, LA area manufacturer seeks a Controls/Automation Engineer ready to make an immediate contribution and deploy technology to improve product profitability, quality and safety. 

 

Duties include:  Design and implementation of new production systems (manufacturing, machining and/or assembly cells/centers) as well as troubleshooting and improvement of existing processes. 

 

Candidates with either 3 to 5 years of experience and BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience are encouraged to apply. 

 

Critical technical skills include:  PLC programming (Allen-Bradley PLC's preferred), robot programming and integration (Fanuc robots preferred), automation design: hardware and software, manufacturing floor wiring and instrumentation. 

 

Candidates need good interpersonal skills and must work well in a team environment of engineers and technicians.  Candidates also must be self-motivated and have good communication skills, both oral and written.
