The Mesa, Arizona plant develops complete airbag systems with driver side, passenger side, side impact and rollover curtain applications.  Products from the facility include gas generant inflators and module assemblies.

 

The preferred candidate will design, develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing controls systems including: PLCs and HMIs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley experience highly desirable). Troubleshooting experience with electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic measurement and control devices and systems is a must.  Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to -Provide Controls Engineering project management for high volume discrete manufacturing lines.  Specify electrical and controls hardware and software.  Provide vendor management and supervision.  Provide production support for manufacturing lines from the device level to the cell controller.  Ensure accurate traceability data collection.  Work with team as a senior engineer to resolve customer issues related to quality and design, resolve issues relative to the process and equipment, and implement the required changes to the production lines. Process improvement and scrap reduction projects, which include the design, installation, and support of production machines and control systems. Support business unit objectives by prioritizing projects and making decisions that affect the long-term production process. Create and maintain documentation, drawings, and databases, including: equipment specifications, functional specifications, standard templates, etc. May provide work to assigned junior engineers and technicians. Work with engineering team to develop, design and implement changes that result from product changes and make recommendations to improve product design and processes using various analytical methods and tools.

6 to 9 years of progressively responsible related experience and specific skills within a high-volume manufacturing environment required. BS in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent education required.
