Controls Technician

Job Requirements:
1. Minimum Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Applied Science - Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferred.
2. Minimum 3-5 years experience in an industrial setting, with proven electrical controls experience. Includes ladder logic and human-machine interface programming capabilities. Experience with 480Vac electrical circuits also required.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of personnel within the Company, and with outside vendors and suppliers.
4. Experience using personal computers in a work environment for spreadsheet, document presentation, and drawing preparation. Experience with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, AutoCAD and Rockwell Software products preferred.
5. Ability to perform efficiently in a time sensitive environment.
6. Ability to travel 50%.
Description of Duties:
1. Develop new program routines or graphical interfaces to enhance plant operation and efficiency.
2. Perform controls modifications or additions to support various engineering and plant projects.
3. Provide electrical controls assistance to the DJJ family of companies on a per call basis.
4. Occasionally design control panel enclosures in accordance with NEC and OSHA regulations.
5. Maintain electrical controls schematics to reflect most recent changes and/or additions.
6. Performs other projects as assigned.
