Crystal Growth Process Engineer

Fast growing manufacturer of High Technology Optical Sensors for Missile Detection Systems located in New Port Richey has an immediate need for a Crystal Growth Engineer.  This position is a great opportunity for professionals in the North Pinellas or Pasco County areas. 

 

Requirements include a B.S. Engineering, Physics, chemistry, materials science, or relevent science.0-3 years experience as a manufacturing, process, or methods engineer.

Experience working in an optical fabrication environment or a highly technical, quality-oriented manufacturing environment desirable.  Process control and software (LabVIEW) experience a plus.

 

The individual will provide process engineering support to the UV Filter production department.  The use of a well-documented, methodical approach will be necessary in resolving crystal growth process problems that arise during production.  The engineer will be expected to utilize established experimental and statistical techniques to help technicians define both problems and opportunities in quantitative terms.  The engineer will then be responsible for gathering and analyzing pertinent data, and presenting results to the team members.  After the team has agreed upon process improvements, the engineer will update documentation to reflect any changes.  Finally, the engineer will be exposed to crystal growth practices, and will need to integrate process automation with proven crystal growth techniques, as well as furnace design and maintenance.
