Curriculum Developer

  FULL DESCRIPTION:


Overview:

Designs, develops, and maintains highly technical product training courses for employees and/or customers. Directly interfaces with functional organizations and customers to develop course content. Prepares project plans from direct interface with engineering, technical support, manufacturing and other functional groups to ensure that course material accurately reflects current products and features. Ensures content addresses all levels of customer profile in the use of company products/services. Identifies opportunities to utilize e-learning, blended learning, and other instructional technologies to deliver training. Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results. Reviews work of other functional groups. Responsible to maintain course development and revision processes that comply with IACET, PBET and ISO requirements.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 New Course Instructional Design and Development: Conducts needs assessment and analysis identifying relevant tasks, performance objectives, and required skills and knowledge. Formulates lesson outlines and/or storyboards and determines instructional methods such as; individual, group, lecture, web based, demonstration, etc. Develops course materials including student manuals, instructor guides, job aids, functional block diagrams, presentation materials, online or CD-ROM materials. Conducts beta tests of course designs, interfaces directly with instructional staff to conduct train-the-trainer activities.

 Project Management: Functions as team or project lead for developers assigned to team or project. Responsible for communication of assigned projects including; schedules and resource requirements, and communicating status to internal/external customers. Provides direct interface with Product Training, Product Documentation, Engineering, Product Support and/or other functions to understand changes in policies, regulations and/or technologies and negotiates resources in support of product training programs.

 Course Materials Revision/Update: Performs ongoing analysis of course materials, student evaluations and course change requests to ensure effectiveness and relevance of materials and programs. Revises existing course material as appropriate. Maintains course materials and interfaces directly with print vendors to ensure all course materials are of latest revision. Ensures course materials are available as course delivery schedule dictates.

 Personal Development: Maintains instructional development and delivery skills. Reviews professional journals, trade magazines, reports, etc. to maintain familiarity with instructional design technologies and methods. Develops technical product knowledge.

 



Additional Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining records and files of work and revisions. Responsible for timely archiving, duplication and distribution of material. May deliver product-training courses to employees and/or customers.

 



Specific Duties:In this position the employee will be working with course materials for all product lines.

 



Skills/Knowledge/Ability:Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Three to five years in an instructional design or training-related position, preferably within the semiconductor industry. Formal training and/or experience in project management, process coaching, meeting facilitation. Knowledge of the use of electronic media to enhance the adult learning experience. Competence in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams and developing functional block diagrams. Instructional Design, Adult Education or related experience. Knowledge of the management of relational databases a plus

 



Special Requirements:This employee will communicate information to Axcelis employees and customers regarding the details of operation, maintenance and repair of all Implant, Curing, Cleaning, and Rapid Thermal Processing product lines.



Expected Travel:

5 - 10 %

Education/Experience:Education Level required for this position: Bachelors Degree Years of experience: Required - 3, Preferred - 5 +
