DCS Field Application Engineer / Systems Engineer

 

 

The company is a global supplier of Automation, Instrumentation and Information Controls to the Process and Utility markets world wide.  Their North American operations group is experiencing strong growth in its systems business and is adding qualified DCS Field Application Engineers to help support its existing customer base.  Current openings are in the Los Angeles basin and Bakersfield area.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

?  Accompany account managers to sales meetings and customer visits as needed to provide technical support. 

?  Study customer documentation and conduct site walk-downs as needed to become familiar with the process and the customer?s control philosophy.  Work with customer to define and propose field engineering tasks to support customer?s existing control applications.

?  Prepare estimates for field engineering solutions on Yokogawa systems based on analysis of customer requirements.  Identify the skill level required to perform the

?  Successfully plan and execute field engineering tasks such as graphics work, loop tuning, adding points or loops, documentation clean up, or any additional tasks required by existing customers. 

?  Responsible for customer satisfaction (internal & external) with engineering portion of a field project?s deliverables.

?  Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsible.

 

The successful candidate will have a BS in engineering (preferably Chem E) and 5 to 10 years experience as a DCS Application Engineer or Process Control Engineer.  You will be comfortable talking with clients and be able to advise them on areas of improvement or addition to their existing systems. Your initiative will help you to seek out field projects, propose solutions and then successfully execute the project.  Your experience will have prepared you to work independently and you will require little direct supervision.
