DIRECTOR, HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT

Sirit is a leading provider of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader technology to OEM?s and solution providers worldwide. Our customers are the world?s leading manufacturers and developers of data collection devices including handheld computers / portable data terminals, printers, cashless payment terminals, and barcode scanners.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic senior-level engineering manager to lead the development of our current and next generation of industry leading RFID reader products.

You will manage the execution of entire projects beginning with the initial proposal phase through design, development and final release. Coordinate the activities of numerous projects (internal and external.  Work in a cross functional environment.  Support and assist in developing business requirements, functional system specifications, and project plans with customers and internal business sponsors.

You will be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled engineers involved in RF, analog, digital, and mechanical design; function as the primary liaison to manufacturing for all new product introductions; provides technical direction for all hardware development; and play a key role interfacing with customers, vendors, and other members of the Sirit team.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, but will also possess the common sense necessary to tactically run an engineering department.

This position will report to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities

?  Lead a technical team in the design and development of hardware products and systems, from inception through pre-  production.

?  Simultaneously manage multiple projects and provide technical support on hardware related matters.

?  Develop and maintain drawing packages and documentation for manufacturing, assembly and test.

?  Suggest and develop process improvements, new internal procedures, standards, and associated documentation.

?  Recruitment and career development of technical staff within the department.

?  Technical presentations to major customers and partners.

Experience and Education

?  BSEE (MSEE a plus) with 10+ years experience, of which at least 5 years is in a management/leadership role in a commercial, product-oriented organization.

?  Must have a strong technical background in either digital hardware design or in RF/analog circuit design.

?  Highly motivated, enterprising, and possessing excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

?  Must be well versed in ISO, six-sigma, and/or other Total Quality methodologies.

?  A strong background in communications or wireless engineering is a big plus.

?  Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

?  Very strong personal ethics and integrity

?  Willingness to travel on as-needed basis
