Responsibilities Include:Planning, coordinating, and directing all aspects of Acceler8's more than $1.5 Billion construction activitiesManaging Acceler8 construction staff to ensure adherence to District contract protocols, specifications, and contract documents as well as schedule and budget Modifying Acceler8 construction processes and procedures, staffing, and roles and responsibilities to fit a rapidly expanding construction programEnsuring that activities of the construction staff are coordinated with and through project managers and consultant teams responsible for project construction management and engineering during construction to achieve quality results in a safe construction environment and with other departments within the District to ensure optimal implementation of construction workServing as expert spokesperson regarding the construction program and employment opportunities available during a program of this magnitude Extensive interaction with local, state, and federal agencies; stakeholders; consultants; contractors; and District executive management Working closely with Office of Counsel and Procurement to identify and expedite all efforts to procure construction services, authorize and execute change orders, and process contractor invoices

 

Requirements Include:Bachelor's degree (Master's desired) in Engineering or Construction ManagementAt least 15 years qualifying experienceFlorida Professional Engineer (P.E.) or out-of-state Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with ability to obtain Florida P.E. License within six (6) monthsFlorida General Contractor's License preferred.
