Design Engineer (3592042)

DESIGN ENGINEER Work directly with an Engineer to design industrial heat treating and auxiliary equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review projects with the Engineer to provide proper design, construction, and operational information.
Develop necessary calculations, sketches and material specifications to generate complete and accurate bills of material and drawings.
Work closely with Designer to provide correct material and time budget information and update budgets as required.
Perform and assist in design to meet performance, safety and reliability requirements.
Keep in close contact with the Shop concerning progress of current projects to be aware of, and correct engineering problems that may
develop as well as be aware of possible improvements and/or cost reductions on future projects.
Requires travel to domestic and foreign locations to assist in troubleshooting, or other related work.
Help with the implementation of the established Quality Program, as a condition of employment, as stated in the Corporate Procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.

Ability to develop basic designs and concepts for heat processing equipment.
Work within budgets to complete assignments.
Demonstrate drawing skills, both on a manual drafting board and with CAD systems.
Have ability to use reference materials including design standards, machinery handbooks, national standard references, among others.
Possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members, as well as inside and outside customers.
Have a strong sense of urgency and commitment in completing tasks.

Effectiveness in application of technology to furnish safe, high quality equipment and information.
Accuracy of and adherence to design hour estimates and material estimates.
Willingness to project and success in holding estimated completion dates for design.
