Job Description

As a key contributor in the systems development team creating next generation networking products, the Hardware Design Engineer (Board Designer) is responsible for high-speed board logic design including specification, board bring up and release to production. Must have experience in the design, debug and production release of board level products. Must have proficiency with English language.

This is an intermediate level technical position. Engineer works independently on non-routine and routine, defined projects involving well developed planning, time management and communication skills within established standards and with some direction from superiors. Work is assigned and general instructions given for routine work, detailed for non-routine and new projects. Applies knowledge of company policies and standard practices to resolve problems. Uses analysis and judgment to resolve issues and make decisions. May interface with management.

Engineer exercises judgment within well defined practices and policies; notifies appropriate individuals and managers as decisions are made; decisions typically involve workflow and time prioritization. Discusses and presents information and issues internally within Foundry. Communicates with management as a representative of a discipline or department. Builds consensus among peers.

Position Responsibilities

Duties include logic design, schematic entry, board timing analysis and working closely with signal integrity, EMI and PCB layout groups as well as system bring up and system software

Position Requirements

BSEE required, MSEE preferred.
3/ 5 years experience with a minimum of 3 years experience with schematic design (Viewlogic preferred), high-speed board design and signal integrity issues and board level hardware bring up

Additional Desired Qualifications

Knowledge or technical background in large multi-gigabit switching fabrics is ideal. Analog design experience a plus
