Design Engineer Entry

QUALIFICATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIREMENTS:
? Design chassis, power train or vehicle-body interior and exterior components.
? Interface with Test and Field Service personnel to identify and analyze problems encountered in the field and prototype development/testing.
? Interface with Engineering Analysis personnel to determine the most effective and economical materials to be used in product systems and components.
? Provide creative, technically-feasible solutions.
? Interface and coordinate with Suppliers, Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing and other engineering personnel in the product development and testing phases.
? Evaluate state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply the latest advances.
? Apply statistical and engineering techniques in designing and testing.
? Use programming and modeling techniques in conjunction with mathematical analysis.
? Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design vehicles that meet government regulations, restrictions, and codes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A BSME or other technical degree and previous exposure to vehicle component design/analysis experience preferred, including recent 3D CAD (ProE or Catia). Experience in the design of chassis, cab, and power train components is preferred.
