The Design Engineer for Gits Manufacturing in Creston, IA is responsible for the design and development of automotive product design engineering and associated technical support activities to coordinate the integration of product design with Engineering, Sales, Purchasing and Production to achieve Customer Satisfaction while providing quality and cost optimization.

Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:
BS in Technical/Engineering field, MBA preferred.
Must develop in-depth knowledge of Engineering Solutions' products and system applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Must be available for occasional travel.

Key responsibilities of this individual are:
Provide solutions to and leads the efforts to support design, applications, R & D, Prototype efforts.
Provides technical and project management leadership in support of Sales Engineering and Customer product application. Works directly with Sales Engineering, R & D, Design and Applications to prioritize projects to increase customer satisfaction.
Utilizes project management techniques to assure projects are completed on schedule and to budget, while continuously improving the process to enhance speed to market.
Provide leadership for creating and maintaining Engineering Design and Drawing Standards. Focuses on standardization, SKU management, design for manufacturing and cost reductions.
Responsible for design, BOM input, and documentation control relating to Engineering design and development.
Recommends specific production methods with regard to manufacturing capabilities and capacity.
Responsible for Engineering Change Notification process. Provides detailed information relating to product design, design changes, product specifications, fit/form/function, sales/customer notification, and cost effective management of inventory transitions.
Responsible for quality improvement, margins management and cost reduction of existing products.
Supports the development and maintenance of software technology to support design analysis and print generation.
Responsible for direction and implementation of major capital projects.
Acts as primary interface between customer and company for product support related to service and technical issues.
Develops, coordinates and plans minor engineering projects for customer modifications or component applications.
Expands knowledge of company's operations, product applications and tactical actions in areas beyond immediate responsibilities.
Stays current in the status of competitive products and evaluates these products for marketing that may affect the company's competitive position.
All other responsibilities as assigned by management.
