As an IC Design Manager, you will develop switching power supply ICs for broad market Power Management applications.  You will be involved in all aspects of Power IC designs including definition, design, simulation, submission of patents as applicable, supervising layout, debug and performing silicon evaluation.  Additional responsibilities may include definition and evaluation of new processes, CAD tools, packages or tools.


 


As a part of this position, you will supervise and mentor one to two junior designers. Management responsibilities will include setting goals, determining priorities, monitoring and evaluating assignments, writing performance reviews and supporting budget forecasts.  Duties will also consist of working with other management, which include involvement in determining operational objectives and policies that affect the department.


 


The applicant should be familiar with state-of-the-art circuit topologies and have relevant experience in designing power management chips (i.e. magnetic switcher, LDO’s, switch cap’s). You will need to solve complex problems requiring extensive investigation and clarification of various technologies and factors.  You must exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.


 


This job entails working with a cross-functional product development team. You will work with test development to specify test methods; assist applications with the preparation of application information, data sheets and demonstration boards; define products with applications and marketing; and support product engineering with characterization and product release.


 


Typical minimum requirements are: 8 years with B.S. or equivalent; 7 years with M.S./MBA or equivalent; 4 years with Ph.D. or equivalent. Prefer candidates with 4-5 years of power management experience.
